Calcium hydroxide plays an important role in the pulp and paper industry. It can be used as a bleach and deinking agent for bleaching and removing impurities from pulp. Calcium hydroxide can chemically react with pigments and impurities in the pulp to make it insoluble in water, thus achieving the effect of bleaching and deinking.
